Who is eligible for the Social Internet Package?
The Social Internet Package is an attractive capped rate for a fixed internet connection. It is designed for vulnerable individuals or families (receiving a living wage or another form of financial assistance). Entitlement to the Social Internet Package is determined by the FPS Economy.
The FPS Economy is responsible for checking the list of those entitled to the Social Internet Package and will verify whether you meet the following access conditions:
- You meet the criteria for the Social Internet Package
- You have not been granted the Social Internet Package by another operator *
- No other member of your household has already been granted the Social Internet Package

Please note
- The Social Internet Package cannot be granted to a business customer, to people who are homeless in Belgium or to people living in a hotel, retirement home or other form of communal living, unless they have a contract in their own name and for their exclusive use;
- Please note that having the status of “Beneficiary of the Higher Reimbursement Rate” (BIM) does not entitle you to the Social Internet Package;
- The Social Internet Package can only be obtained from one operator at a time;
- The Social Internet Package does not apply to cable television;
- In the event of an irregularity relating to the customer’s eligibility for the Social Internet Package, only the FPS ECONOMY will be able to provide explanations;

Important information
- These two packages comply with the specifications imposed by law.
- They can be combined with a Mobile package, but the discount will not apply to the Mobile package.
- It is also possible to add additional VOO services at the commercial price.
How do I subscribe to a Social Internet Package?
Your application is sent by VOO to the FPS ECONOMY, which checks, on the basis of your national register number, whether you meet the conditions for entitlement to the Social Internet Package. If so, you can then go ahead and subscribe to the Social Internet Package.
What happens if I am no longer entitled to the Social Internet Package?
Every 6 months, the FPS ECONOMY checks whether you are still entitled to the Social Internet Package. If it transpires that you are no longer entitled:
- the FPS Economy will inform you in writing.
- VOO will also contact you to choose a price plan tailored to your needs.
If you lose entitlement to the Social Rate, a grace period of 3 months will be granted. During these 3 months, you continue to access your services at the same rate.
At the end of this grace period, if we do not hear from you or if you have not opted for another service, you will continue to have access to the same VOO services, but at the standard rate outside the Social Internet Package.
Social rate for telecommunications under the old scheme
If you are entitled to the social rate for telecommunications under the old scheme, this does not make you automatically entitled to the Social Internet Package. The conditions for entitlement are different for the two schemes.
Without any action on your part, you will keep the social rate for telecommunications under the old scheme.
